The New Manager's Tool Kit by Don Grimme

Well written, to the point, easy to refer to and use . So helpful it should be kept on the desk top within easy reach for handy reference. Sure to have well worn pages. In particular, I found the section on process of active listening insightful and not the usual run of the mill tips. This is an extremely useful guide.
This book provides managers with easily adoptable methods of keeping the "human" side of the HR function. For example, in Chapter 8, Ask then listen.... one must perform a similar assessment of performance on themselves (360-degree)and have the sense of professionalism to extrapolate and learn from the insights found.
Organizations regularly claim that people are their most important asset. But managers usually know much more about maintaining their buildings than developing and supporting their people.
